Do you worry about worry worms?

I used to! I loved little worry worm patterns popping up everywhere but I was not sure about googly eyes most patterns used. Gluing something onto crochet, which potentially will be handled a lot just did not seem very safe to me. And yes, I know, you could also embroider eyes, but I am just not that good with needle work.

So instead, I decided to create my own worry worm pattern which uses safety eyes, so you don't have to worry about eyes falling off!

Hope you like this pattern:

You will need - 4mm crochet hook, 10m aran/worsted (size 4 yarn), two 6mm safety eye

Worry worm with safety eyes

(US Crochet terms)

Abbreviations:

sts - stitches

mc - magic circle

sc - single crochet

inc - increase

dec - decrease

Begin by creating a magic circle (adjustable magic ring).

ROUND 1: 6 sc into mc (6 sts).

ROUND 2: inc 6 times (12 sts).

ROUND 3,4,5: sc into each stitch (12 sts).

Add safety eyes between rows 4 and 5. Three stitches apart.

ROUND 6: dec 6 times (6 sts).

ROUND 7: dec 3 times (3 sts). This might be tricky, just do your best

􀦸􀦹􀦺􀦻

Chain 26, then skip the first stitch from the hook and sc 4 into each of the 25 chains (100 sts). Slip stitch into the head, fasten off, sew in the end and you are DONE!

Happy crocheting!

Kat :)
