Never too early for Christmas makes, right?

Us crochet people like to prepare for Christmas in July, right? So it is not too early for me to share a quick Christmas pattern with you all, right?!

This mini wreath works up super fast and you do not need anything other than DK yarn and 5 mm crochet hook (ok scissors too) to complete this project.

Abbreviations:

st(s): stitch(es)

R: round

ch: chain

FO: Fasten off

slst: slip stitch

beg: beginning

sc: single crochet

hdc: half double crochet

There is also a full tutorial available on YouTube

Mini wreath:

You will be using green yarn doubled up for the main part of the wreath, two strands of DK yarn held together.

Start by creating a slip knot and chain 12.

R 1: slst into the first chain to form a circle.

R 2: ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 24 into the circle, slst to beg ch-1 to finish (24 sts).

R 3: *ch 2, skip one, slst into next st*, repeat from * to * (12 mini loops).

R 4: (sc, 3hdc, sc) into each mini loop, 5 sts per loop, slst to finish.

Fasten off leaving a long tail for making a hanging string.

Bow for the wreath:

You will be working with white and red yarn held together (two strands at the same time).

Begin with creating a slip knot, leaving about a 10-15 cm tail at the beginning of your work, it will be used later to create the bow, the longer the tail, the easier it will be to work with it at the end of the project.

Chain 24, pull through and fasten off, cut the yarn, leaving a tail similar length to the one at the beginning of the chain.

Starting from the green hanging string on the wreath, feed red/white chain through loops, in one/ out next. Adjust and tie a knot at the top of the wreath.

Make a bow at the top the same way as you would tie shoelaces. I found it easiest to turn the wreath upside down when making a bow and that way it hangs the correct way when finished. Cut the tails to desired length, cut the green hanging string to desired length and make a knot at the end of it.

Happy crocheting!

Kat
