Smile - it's Friday Freebie time!

How cute are these little cactus pot buddies!?

I have made so many of them, I can't even remember. They are always first ones to go on craft markets, each just slightly different but just as happy as the next!

If you like to make some too, here is the pattern for you to follow and I have also made a full video tutorial.

It would be amazing if you would subscribe to my YouTube channel too :)

Crochet language: US Crochet terms

Gauge/tension is not important for this

pattern as long as your stitches are tight

and without gaps. If you struggle getting

tight enough stitches, try a smaller hook.

You will need:

● 4 mm crochet hook

● mini flower pot (3 x 3 cm)

● Yarn needle, Scissors, Stuffing, Craft

glue, two 6mm safety eyes

● Yarn: small amounts of

DK (size 3) in green and

thread (size 0) in darker tone.

You will be working with both yarns held

together.

You will also need a small amount of black

yarn for the mouth.

This pattern requires basic knowledge

of the following crochet stitches:

● Magic circle

● Single crochet

● Single crochet increase and decrease

● How to crochet in continuous circle

Abbreviations:

st(s): stitch(es)

R: round

mc: magic circle (adjustable magic ring)

beg: beginning

inc: increase, sc two stitches into the same

stitch

dec: decrease, sc two stitches together

*__* repeat instructions from to

Mini cactus:

Start by creating a magic circle with both yarns held together.

Tip: Mark the first stitch of each round with a stitch marker.

R 1: 6 sc into the mc (6 sts).

R 2: inc into each stitch around (12 sts).

R 3: sc, inc 6 times (18 sts).

R 4 - 5 (3 rounds): sc around (18 sts).

R 7: sc, dec 6 times (12 sts).

Add safety eyes between rounds 4 and 5, approximately 4 stitches apart.

Start adding stuffing, then stuff as you go.

R 8: sc, dec 4 times (8 sts).

R 9 - 11 (3 rounds): sc around (8 sts). Fasten off, cut yarn, finish stuffing.

Using your yarn needle, go through the front loops of the final round, then pull to

close the gap at the bottom of your cactus. Using your black yarn, embroider a smiley

face, then glue your cactus into its pot.

Happy Friday and enjoy crocheting!
